A 26-year-old man from Grandview was arrested Monday for shooting two people in Toppenish. Police were called to the 900 block of West 1st Avenue in Toppenish at about 6:20 p.m. Monday where they found one victim and transported the person to a hospital. A second gunshot victim arrived at the hospital several hours later. Both are expected to survive.
The suspect was arrested after authorities stopped a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The suspect faces two counts of assault, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Drive By Shooting. He's being held in the Yakima County jail. The two victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
