Tough Economy Forces Closure Of Memorial Clinic

Yakima's Memorial Hospital is closing its Valley Orthopedic Specialists practice on September 30. The practice, which focused upon Medicare, Medicaid, and State Industrial patients with orthopedic problems, has been underwritten by the hospital since its inception in 2005. Tough economic times forced the hospital to close the facility.

Eleven employees currently work at Valley Orthopedic Specialists, including three physicians and three certified physician assistants. All will have the opportunity to find positions within the hospital's current programs.
