Toppenish Motel Has Seen Two Murders No Arrests This Month
Two fatal shootings at the same motel in Toppenish.
Authorities in Toppenish are investigating a fatal shooting at the El Corral Motel reported on Wednesday. Toppenish Police Officers were called to the motel along U.S. 97 where they found a 31-year-old man dead from gunshot wounds.
THE FIRST SHOOTING A MAN WAS SHOT INSIDE A ROOM
The man's name hasn't been released and no arrests were made at the scene.
Police aren't saying what the motive was in the shooting. They're still investigating a shooting at the same motel reported on March 7. In that shooting Toppenish Police say 19-year-old Carlos Ramirez of Toppenish died after being shot in a room at the motel. There's nothing to indicate the two murders are connected. Police are always hoping for tips.

The motel is located at 61731 U.S. Highway 97 in Toppenish.
Yakima County has seen 8 homicides so far this year. It's no secret that the lower valley cities of Toppenish and Sunnyside battle gang problems just like the city of Yakima. There's no word if the shootings were related to local gangs.
