If buying a home was easy, then everybody would be able to get one. Oh, to be so lucky! Those lucky types have either had great (wealthy) family members to gift them a family home, great credit, or a great mortgage loan to have access to all the available homes for sale in the state. We have located the 5 highest property tax towns in Washington.

THE BENEFITS OF PAYING THOSE HIGH PROPERTY TAXES: THE FINE PRINT

One of the fine prints of owning a home, no matter where you live, is paying those high property taxes every year. There are a few benefits to high property taxes because those taxes do help pay for sprucing up city streets, school buildings, sidewalks, public services, and the like.

THE HORRIRFYING SIDE OF PROPERTY TAXES: THE OTHER FINE PRINT

It is devastating to see people losing their homes because they couldn't afford to pay the property tax. I know first-hand of this tragedy after seeing my own mom lose our family home. This was the home that was supposed to have been passed down to me, my inheritance. When I asked her why she let our family home go into foreclosure, she said she didn't want to burden me with having to help her pay the property taxes, which were in arrears. If only she had told me, I would have done everything I could to scrape up the thousands of dollars needed to save it from being foreclosed and ultimate auctioned off (for practically scraps) to some ungrateful and greedy land developer. I shared all of that personal story to say, PAY YOUR PROPERTY TAXES, PEOPLE!

Now, here are the 5 highest property tax towns in Washington State. They all happen to be located in King County, too. (*pretends to be shocked*)
