In honor of Foster Care Month, the Seattle Mariners held the 4th annual We Are Family Day yesterday at Safeco Field. As a foster-adopt family, the Teegardens took part.
It was a unique experience for our family at We Are Family Day at Safeco Field yesterday. The children in our family have all been adopted out of state foster care except the baby in the photo, and we are working on that! We Are Family Day recognized foster families, adoptive families, and Kinship providers in the State of Washington. We heard several older foster kids talk about their experiences in the system and what their foster families did for them. It was a very humbling feeling for us.
After the foster family get together, we explored the stadium. Our son Jordan met up with the Mariner Moose.
It was also Little League Day at the ballpark, and we got to be down on the field to walk around the warning track with hundreds of other families.
While on the field, our daughter Autumn snapped a shot of Mariners All-Star Felix Hernandez (L) playing a little long toss.
After the pregame activities, the Safeco Field Clock told us it was time to head for our seats and get ready for the game.
