It's early but a reminder that the fire season has arrived came on Friday when local and state firefighters battled flames of a wildfire in Tieton that grew to about 55-acres before it was brought under control on Saturday morning. The fire was reported just before noon on Friday in the area of Noye Road in the Tieton area. Firefighters say it was caused by a controlled burn that grew out of control.

Fire officials say if you live in an area where fire could impact your property it's not to late to build that defensible green space around your home and property.
