Black Friday Kicks Off the Holiday Shopping Season

Thanksgiving and Black Friday are now complete. City officials in Yakima and surrounding areas have not added up all the figures.  Most say they had a strong weekend of sales. Many parking lots were full starting Thursday night the eve of Black Friday. Now the holiday shopping season is officially underway. The Yakima Lighted Christmas parade as well as a number of other holiday events will occur in the upcoming weeks.

Some people spent the Thanksgiving holiday volunteering. People who want to get involved can contact the Salvation Army and volunteer to be a bell ringer for the Red Kettle Campaign.
