Thanksgiving Day in America always lands on a Thursday, and this year it will be on November 28, 2024.

When I was growing up, everything was closed on major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Over the years, some grocery stores plan to be open (if not for just a few hours), and others are giving their employees the day off.

Will your local Costco be closed this year? Can you make a quick pit stop there if you forget a last-minute ingredient that you need for those Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving Day recipes?

Will you be able to get your Starbucks coffee, tea, and juice fix the morning of Turkey Day?

Here are some stores that WILL be open on Thanksgiving Day with limited hours so that their employees can enjoy time off for themselves to spend alone or with friends and family.

We can also expect some restaurant chains and major fast-food to be open on Thanksgiving Day, although they may have limited hours. I'm talking about places like Denny's, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Applebee's, Wendy's, Popeye's, and Burger King.

Surprisingly, I've read that some retail shops plan to be open this Thanksgiving Day holiday (with limited hours), including Old Navy, Cabela's, Amazon Fresh (but Amazon Go stores will be closed), and Big Lots.
