Having recently moved to Yakima from the Seattle-Tacoma area, new resident Lorrie Brown says there is, actually, a LOT to do in the Yakima Valley and that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
One of the best places to be during this heat spell, which looks as though it's going to continue all summer, is Lake Chelan. Frankly, as someone who grew up 30 miles from there, in Wenatchee, Chelan has been a treasured part of my life as far back as I can remember.
I cannot wait to take a vacation. I try to plan for one every year. It seems, though, that when I do plan well, it never works out. There is always something going on. The question is if the rest of Yakima Valley are in the same boat? I am on a salary, so I don't continue to work when I should take vacation because of money. However, wages in this area aren't the greatest.
