Swimming Accident Leaves Two Dead

Two people drowned Wednesday in Toppenish Creek near Granger. A 26 year old woman and a 31 year old man, reportedly brother and sister are the victims. Deputies with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office say the victims were on a family outing swimming at the creek yesterday afternoon when the accident happened. Once pulled from the water, the pair could not be revived. Both were pronounced dead at Toppenish Community Hospital. Investigators say they found alcohol near the area where the people were swimming.
