A man who has served in law enforcement in Yakima County for the last 14 years will be this year's Grand Marshal for the annual Sunfair Parade. Yakima County Sheriff Ken Irwin says he's honored to be named as the Grand Marshal.
"I'm humbled to get this award and also what a hoot. To be the Grand Marshal of the parade in your home town that's cool."
Irwin says when the year is over he'll have spent some 42 years in law enforcement. He's spent the last 14 years as Yakima County Sheriff. The Sheriff will retire at the end of the year.
The annual Sunfair Parade is set for September 20 on Yakima Avenue. It starts at 10:00 a.m.
