TACOMA (AP) — A western Washington man who pleaded guilty to raping a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.

The News Tribune reported Tuesday that 21-year-old Jarrett Day, of Sumner, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape as part of an agreement with prosecutors. He was sentenced earlier this month.

Court documents say the victim told police her and Day started off as friends and then became sexual partners.

Day is accused of giving the girl a sexually transmitted disease.

Records show Day was also convicted in a child rape case in 2011.
