State Troopers Looking For Witnesses In Fatal Crash

State Patrol News Release-The Washington State Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the three-vehicle fatality collision that occurred last Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 82 near Yakitat Road in Benton County. The collision occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Preliminary investigation indicates a wide load truck was traveling in the right lane followed by a pilot car. A third vehicle, a smaller truck, struck the rear of the pilot car forcing it ahead into the wide load. The driver of the pilot car died in the crash.
