Spokane Prosecutor Says Police Shooting Was Justified

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Spokane County Prosecutor's Office says the police shooting of a 32-year-old man in May was justified.

The prosecutor's office says no officers will be charged in the wounding of Aaron Johnson at the West Wynn Motel.

Police responded to the motel for a domestic violence report involving a gun and knife on the afternoon of May 2.

The Spokesman Review says the suspect set up to shoot officers when they arrived.

Spokane police say they found a suicide note during their search.

Johnson survived the shooting and is now in the county jail.

The officer-involved shooting at the West Wynn was the third within a week for the Spokane Police Department.
