Southeastern Washington Wildfire Started by Lightning Strike

WASHTUCNA, Wash. (AP) — Some homes, farms and a fish hatchery are threatened by a large wildfire in southeastern Washington.

The state fire marshals' office said the blaze, estimated to be 39 square miles Monday morning, was started Saturday by a lightning strike in Franklin County. Four wildland strike teams were called in to help.

The Tri-City Herald reports no homes have been lost and there are no evacuations at this time.
