Rock blasting scheduled for tonight on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass is cancelled. This is good news for drivers wanting to beat the crowds before the busiest holiday travel weekend begins.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and construction crews were able to successfully remove material during the rock blasting operations last night.

Rock blasting is part of the $551 million I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East – Hyak to Keechelus Dam project to widen a five-mile stretch of the highway from four to six lanes. The project is scheduled to be complete in fall 2017.
