Skewered Apple Champ Crowned Sunday

The Tree Top Skewered Apple BBQ Championship was held Sunday afternoon at the Tree Top Headquarters in Selah.

A total of 58 teams from all over the Pacific Northwest gathered to compete for a top prize of $10,000 and a shot at the world food competition in Las Vegas.

And for the third year in a row, this year's grand champion is Wine Country Q -- a team from Duvall.

It was the fifth year of the competition hosted by Tree Top Apple Juice. They began the competition after many pit grillers started using apple juice to tenderize the meat they use.
