A tragic shooting in Selah that's how authorities are describing Saturday's death of a 33 year old Selah woman. County Sheriff's Chief Stew Graham says a 17 year old boy had just received a handgun for his birthday, a present from his parents. Graham says the teen was in a room handling the gun when it went off and a bullet passed through a wall in the home on South Wenas road. The bullet struck the teen's 33 year old mother in the head. Vonda Willis Jean was taken to a yakima hospital where she died. The case is expected to be forwarded to the county prosecutors office which will determine if any charges will be filed in the shooting.
