Sex Offenders Not Welcome At Yakima City Pools

In December of last year Yakima city officials learned that a level 3 sex offender was using Lions pool. As a result the Yakima City Council Tuesday took advantage of a State law that allows cities to ban sex offenders from public pools. The law was passed in 2006 allows cities to ban level 2 and 3 sex offenders from areas where children gather to be cared for or educated. About 100 sex offenders in the Yakima Valley are banned from City swimming pools in the city of Yakima.
