No firework sales on the Yakima Nation reservation this 4th of July holiday. COVID-19 concerns forced the nation in mid-May to call off fireworks sales. There's no big public display planned at State Fair Park also because of COVID-19 restrictions. If you want to watch fireworks you'll have to take a drive to Selah's Carlon Park. Selah city officials cancelled the big community celebration but the fireworks will fly. The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the 4th of July. But because of COVID-19 if you go you're being urged to enjoy the show from your car wherever you can park.
No other public displays to celebrate Independence Day are planned in the valley however residents are allowed to use fireworks in Granger, Harrah, Mabton, Moxee and Zillah.
