SCOTUS Upholds Prop 12 and Ford to Keep AM Radio

**The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld California’s Proposition 12.

Now out-of-state producers of pork, eggs and veal have decisions to make: Change their operations to comply with the law’s animal housing requirements OR stop selling their products in California.

The Golden State enjoys a 13% share of the U.S. consumer pork market, making it economically infeasible for many pork producers to exit the California market.

**Ford CEO Jim Farley has announced that Ford will keep AM radio in their newly manufactured vehicles in 2024.

Farley says, “After speaking with policy leaders about the importance of AM broadcast radio as a part of the emergency alert system, we've decided to include it on all 2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles.”

The reversal follows action by lawmakers who introduced the “AM for Every Vehicle Act”, and opposition by broadcast associations.

Federal law requires everyone who received the ag census to complete and return it.

NASS Administrator Hubert Hamer says, “Not being represented in these widely used data means risking being underserved.”
