The first lady said we under the Obama administration we were going to have to change our conversation, traditions and history...the Boston Herald reports it's underway...An elementary school principal in Somerville, Massachusetts has decided that some common fall holidays should not be celebrated at her school. Kennedy School's Anne Foley warned teachers in an e-mail: "When we were young we might have been able to claim ignorance of the atrocities that Christopher Columbus committed against the indigenous peoples. We can no longer do so.

For many of us and our students celebrating this particular person is an insult and a slight to the people he annihilated." She added that teachers needed to "be careful" around Thanksgiving Day as well. Foley is also responsible for banning the kids from dressing up on Halloween because of the holiday's connections to witchcraft. (Boston Herald)
