Ron Bonlender Celebrated With Car Show

Downtown Yakima honored one of its former city council members by celebrating vintage cars in his memory.
The first "Ron Bonlender Memorial Car Show and Cruise The Ave" had everything from old school cars to a huge marbles tournament.

Ron's wife said he was committed to making Yakima a better place, and he would be thrilled to see all the revitalization efforts happening here.

"This would be really exciting for him," said Kathi Bonlender. "He'd be down here in a heartbeat."

Bonlender said she hopes this event will become an annual event and add to the growing number of downtown events.
