Road construction crews get an extra day off this weekend, but many streets will be affected by road work throughout the city.

With school underway, many more commuters will be on the roadways and work near schools will only add to commute times.

The following roads will see work between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day during the short week which will result in periodic lane closures.

  • MLK, Jr. Boulevard from Pierce Street to First Avenue
  • MLK, Jr. Boulevard from First Street to Eighth Street
  • Lincoln Avenue from Sixth Avenue to 16th Avenue
  • Mead Avenue from Pleasant Avenue to Fair Avenue
  • Third Avenue from Walnut Street to D Street
  • Fourth Avenue from Tieton Drive to Lincoln Avenue
  • Fifth Avenue from Tieton Drive to Lincoln Avenue

Overnight closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. will also occur on several roads during the week.

  • 16th Avenue from Nob Hill Boulevard to Englewood Avenue
  • Fourth Avenue from Tieton Drive to Lincoln Avenue
  • Third Avenue from Walnut Street to D Street
  • Sixth Street from Pacific Avenue to Lincoln Avenue
  • D Street from 1st Street to Fifth Avenue
  • Lincoln Avenue from Sixth Avenue to 16th Avenue
  • MLK, Jr. Boulevard from Pierce Street to First Avenue
  • Yakima Avenue from 12th Avenue to 16th Avenue
  • Walnut Street from First Street to Eighth Avenue
  • Nob Hill Boulevard from Third Avenue to First Street
  • Washington Avenue from First Street to 16th Avenue
