Road and utility work continues in the city of Yakima this fall as city officials prepare for colder weather and the upcoming winter season.

Work on North 16th Avenue will happen all week

City crews are doing some water line work Monday through Friday of next week that will result in some traffic restrictions on North 16th Avenue between Cherry Avenue and Jerome Avenue. The work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm each day. City officials say "traffic will be limited to one lane in both directions in the project area. Due to heavy traffic volumes on 16th Avenue, drivers can expect delays. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed."
That work happens all this week.

More water line work will restrict traffic on Tuesday

Other water line work is set for Tuesday at the intersection of Washington Avenue and South 16th Avenue. Traffic restrictions are expected during the work from 5:00 am to
3:30 pm. If you live in the area you can expect water outages during the project.
