Your commute will be impacted this week if you drive on Jerome Avenue. Yakima city crews are installing a wastewater line that's resulting in the closure of a portion of Jerome Avenue from Monday, November 18 through Wednesday, November 20. Work on the project will begin at 7:00 am and last until 4:00 pm each day.
A news release from the city says while the work is underway Jerome Avenue between 20th Avenue and 25th Avenue will be closed to traffic.
The release says "excavation necessary for the wastewater line installation will result in the closure of Jerome from 20th Avenue to 25th Avenue for the duration of the project.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary."
