The King is dead...long live....Well, we really don't know!  Rush Hudson Limbaugh the third, the Maha Rushie, America's Anchorman and the voice of Conservative Talk in America passed away from lung cancer on February 17, 2021.  Since then, the Premiere Radio Network, Rush's program distributor, has produced a sort of "Best of Rush" program showing how Rush's past comments were still relevant and significant to the issues of today and tomorrow!  It was a good show and it demonstrated just how often "Rush WAS Right" as the bumper sticker used to say. All that came to an end this morning 6/21/21.

At 6 minutes and thirty seconds after 9 am pacific time, the distinctive thumping bass line of Rush Limbaugh's theme song,  "My City Was Gone"  from 1982 by Chrissy Hind and the rock group The Pretenders, was nowhere to be found. Instead, the sounds of a bagpipe introduced us to the Charlie Kirk Show.

We will always miss Rush,  but welcome Charlie - no relation to Captain - Kirk!

You may have see Charlie as a commentator on FOX News from time to time.

Charlie Kirk is a young man born near Chicago in 1993.  He's an American conservative activist and radio talk show host. He founded the non-profit organization Turning Point USA in 2012  with a "mission is to identify, educate, train,

and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government."

By 2018 Forbes listed Kirk as one of top 30 under 30 in the area of Law & Policy. If you look at Charlie and listen to what he says you might think to yourself, "I'll bet he was a Boy Scout," and you would be right..an Eagle Scout in fact.

His conservative activism launched early with his campaigning in support of an Illinois Senate candidate in 2010 and in 2012 he was a senior in high school when he wrote a critical essay about bias America's high school textbooks that resulted in an appearnce on FOX,

Though his radio show is new to KIT, his daily three-hour talk show got started in October 2020, on Salem Radio's "The Answer" radio channel.

Will it be the right Answer for KIT?  Time will tell.  He's young but he has passion and a decade worth of Conservative activism under his belt already. Nobody will be the next Rush.  He was one of a kind.  For now, we hope you'll tune into Charlie Kirk and give him a chance to earn your loyalty everyday just as Rush did for more than 30 years.
