Protect Yourself and Others at The Yakima Shreds and Meds Event
Your chance comes this Saturday, October 28 to dispose of old medications and important documents that need to be shredded. The annual event is sponsored by Safe Yakima Valley in partnership with Yakima County Crime Stoppers. The Shreds and Meds event will be held at the Valley Mall in Union Gap.
CHECK FOR OUTDATED PRESCRIPTIONS AND OLD TAX STATEMENTS
Officials at Crime Stoppers and Safe Yakima Valley say start preparing now by getting all your outdated financial records including old bank statements, old checks, old credit card statements and other items that contain personal and financial information ready to be shredded.
THERE ARE LIMITS ON WHAT YOU CAN SHRED
Material is limited to a maximum two banker boxes or three grocery bags.
Outdated prescriptions? You can turn in your unused, expired prescription medications for safe disposal. No limits on amount of medications to return and dispose. Officials ask that your shredded items and medicine are clearly separated.
The event on Saturday will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
ITS A FREE EVENT BUT YOU CAN DONATE TO HELP CATCH BAD GUYS
There is no cost for the service but Safe Yakima Valley and Yakima County Crime Stoppers would gladly accept donations to help in their mission to keep kids safe and help put wanted criminals behind bars. They'll be accepting the donations to support the organizations expenses and reward fund.
