A Prosser Police officer was shot after he responded to a report of burglary early Monday. The injuries are not life threatening. Authorities from the Benton County Sheriff's Office say the officer was treated and released from Prosser Memorial Hospital. They say at about 1:00 a.m. Monday the officer responded to an apartment on Canyon Drive and when he arrived he saw the suspect run away. During the foot chase the suspect fired shots at the officer striking him in the leg. The suspect wasn't arrested and police are still looking for him.
