Why? Why do some of us who have a radio platform use the public's airwaves to fight for traditional values? Why fight for civility and honesty? Why argue against hypocrisy and duplicity?  Why call out the ridiculous behavior of some of today's college students?  Why call out some -not all- of the changes in modern culture?  Why do we hold to the constitution and fear for the loss of liberty?

Why?  Principles matter. Manners matter,  But don't take my word for it.  Hear it best from a former President and founding father of this great nation.

"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader." —Samuel Adams (1779)

How hard are we trying to hold on to our virtues-as individuals and as a nation?  Not hard enough in my opinion, so my hope for us all this Easter weekend is that we take a moment and realize what we have here, what the founder's vision saw right to fight for and preserve for us and what's at stake each time the decisions we make and the actions we take allow our virtues slip a little farther away.

Happy Easter.  May we all come back next week as better people worthy of the liberties of America.
