Today I’d like to share something profound and immensely personal.

An End Of Innocence

Beginning the month of September 2025 was a strange place for the country, and I found myself often gazing on the grave of the MAGA movement that had once animated me. Gone was the excitement and expectation of American restoration after the 2024 election, and in its place was a growing sense of distrust by even the president’s most loyal followers.

The hope of DOGE ending government waste ended in a break-up between the president and Musk, and the Epstein files scandal blew up the internet and felt like betrayal to those followers who had desired an end to corruption. And then, in almost poetic irony, the man who had invigorated the youth for MAGA and held his coalition together was shot in public. The world stood still.

Charting A New Course

I remember vividly the night before his death. I was unenthusiastically starting my first year in college and was jolted out of my sleep with what felt like a lightning bolt of conviction. I am now convinced it was the Holy Spirit, but something told me that I was not where God wanted me, and that I belonged fighting for the things that I believed in: Christian faith and conservative politics. I prayed for a sign as I paced the dorm halls.

The next day I went for a drive to clear my mind, and upon returning to the school, my friends had sent me the video of Charlie Kirk getting murdered. He was a man that meant a lot to me and many of my friends.

He gave a voice to our opinions, which were so often marginalized and mocked; encouraged us to move forward and achieve our goals; and reminded us our ultimate goal was to help and inspire others. God can bring amazing good out of tragedies, and I took this as my sign to pick up where Charlie Kirk left off.

Who knows how much longer Charlie Kirk would have supported our president? He was always a free thinker and I tend to believe he would stand up and critique the places that the MAGA movement was failing.

The future seemed daunting, the world felt like it had lost its innocence, and all I could see was a gaping black hole for my future. I decided to trust God. It has now been 1 year and I find myself doing what I love, working to advance the values I hold so close, and God has blessed me with this platform to reach so many!

Let The Light Shine

If you want to honor Charlie Kirk’s legacy, devote your life to self-improvement, aim to help other people in any way you can, cherish your family, and, as I like to say on my signature sign-off for KIT,

“Keep the faith, and continue fighting for America!”

Charlie never gave up and neither should we.
