The Yakima City Council meets Tuesday when the council will hear the latest in fund raising efforts from the Yakima Central Plaza Committee. Earlier this year the committee reported it has so far raised $5.3 million towards a $9 million goal for public funding for the plaza. And its expected to report more funds raised during a time before the council on Tuesday night.
The council is also expected to consider a resolution pledging the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy $199,000 for trail improvements. Part of a larger state funding program that would give the conservancy $2 million in state funds to use to improve the trail. The council meets at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Yakima city hall.
