Cash or non-perishable food that's what you can give on Saturday during the annual Operation Harvest food collection for area food banks. Officials with the event sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Yakima say they expect more than 150 thousand pounds of food and thousands of dollars in cash to help feed people at food banks around the Yakima Valley.
All you have to do is place non-perishable food or cash on your doorstep by 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Rotary Club volunteers will pick it up. You can drop off food at the Salvation Army store at 9 South 6th Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
