The Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and Sunrise Outreach Center of Yakima are partnering to bring shelter, warmth, and a meal to the nearly 170 homeless people in the Toppenish area.

The local organizations have come together to provide a winter shelter at 508 West First Avenue in Toppenish, the former Napa Auto Parts store, currently owned by Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. A news release says the shelter is scheduled to open Jan. 15, pending a Toppenish City Council vote on Monday, Jan. 13. The shelter will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 6;00 a.m., seven days a week through the end of February.
