Numbers Strong But COVID-19 is Impacting Local Market
COVID-19 is impacting the local real estate market says Cory Bemis owner of Yakima's John L. Scott Real Estate.
He says in April of this year new Listings were down 31.2% and Pending Sales were down 24.9% when compared to April of 2019.
But the Yakima real estate market numbers remain strong.
Bemis says the 2020 Year to Date Median Home Sales Price is $259,000, a more than 10% increase from last year when the median price was $235,000.
Last month 136 homes were sold which is an 8.8% increase from April of 2019 when 125 homes were sold.
So far this year 512 homes have been sold. That's a 19.6% increase from last year when 428 homes were sold.
