I received an email from a listener to the morning show. Like so many of you, he’s disgusted with the on-field antics of the NFL players in disrespecting the American flag. Most probably don’t know what they’re protesting.  But, they are part of a team and they are supporting their teammates.  Ok, fine.

The catalyst of all this of course is Colin Kaepernick who’s original protest was against police brutality and injustice.  Wasn’t it?  He wore the socks at practice depicting police as pigs.

Are all police perfect? No.  Is there a conversation to be had? Yes. Will this get us there? Most likely not.  So why do?  When the answer isn’t clear, some will come up with answers of their own.  Like this list.

Our listener suggests that maybe the NFL players protest the police because so many of the athletes have had run-ins with police.  According to the San Diego Union, from 2000 to 2015 these teams had player arrests.
