On Tuesday the Yakima City Council will begin to talk about some possible city changing budget cuts. The council is expected to talk about decreases in every department to find hundreds of thousands of dollars that just aren't in the budget for 2012. The council has set a study session for 11 next Tuesday morning at City Hall. The City Manager has released a list of proposed cuts effecting every city department. Cawley says the council had fought to fill six open Yakima police officer positions, but the proposed state budget would drain another half a million from the city, making those hires a major challenge. The city will talk about the police positions and proposed cuts at it's study session tomorrow morning at city hall.
