No Corkage Fee Could Help Local Wine Business

The next time you purchase a bottle of wine at a local winery or wine shop you may be able to enjoy that wine at a local restaurant without paying a corkage fee. It's the result of a new law enacted this year that was pushed in part by Yakima restaurant owner Jar Arkand...the owner of Santiagos Restaurant in downtown Yakima. Aarkand says waving the corkage fee is good for business not only at his restaurant but others in the valley. He says the new law also helps increase sales at local wineries and wine shops.
