New Yakima Police Chief Starts Job on Wednesday

The city of Yakima will welcome new Yakima Police Chief Matt Murray when he officially starts his job on Wednesday. City officials say he has completed all the required pre-employment steps necessary for him to fill the job. Murray will be formally sworn in as the new Yakima Police Chief in a brief ceremony at the Yakima Police Department on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.

Murray will be introduced at the May 7 Yakima City Council meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. at city hall.
