New Mexican Art Soon To Arrive In Downtown Yakima

The bust of a Mexican war hero, gift from the Yakima Morelia Sister City Association will soon be placed in downtown Yakima. The bust will soon be placed in the median on North 3rd Street. The Yakima City Council gave thumbs up to that idea at Tuesday's meeting. The council voted 6-1 to accept the bust and 4-3 on the location. Councilman Bill Lover voted against accepting the bust saying he was concerned about it being a distraction for drivers in the area. Micah Cawley, Bill Lover and Dave Ettl voted against placing the art at the specific location downtown.
