
Yakima Valley Public Market Takes Major Step Forward with New Design Phase
The Zillah City Council has officially selected Studio+ Architects to lead the design and engineering of the upcoming Yakima Valley Public Market, marking a big step toward turning the vision into reality. The move means construction is close to create a market featuring local produce, wineries, breweries, artisans, small businesses, and community events.
A YEAR ROUND GATHERING SPOT
Building on a recently completed feasibility study, conducted by partnering with Maul Foster Alongi and the Washington State Tourism Office Zillah officials say the Yakima Valley Public Market is set to become a year-round regional gathering spot.
City officials, in a press release say the project aims to strengthen economic opportunities while creating an exciting market that celebrates the Yakima Valley’s unique agricultural heritage and cultural identity.

A BIG STEP FOR THE PROPOSAL
“This is a major milestone for the Yakima Valley Public Market project and for our community,” says Michael Grayum, Zillah’s city administrator. “As we move into the design and engineering phase, it’s vital that residents, businesses, and community members across the Yakima Valley help shape the vision for a destination centered on community, commerce, and culture.”

The City of Zillah will host a public community information session on Thursday, May 14, at 6:15 p.m. at the Zillah Civic Center.
The event will provide an overview of the project, introduce the Studio+ design team, and offer an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to share feedback and ideas.
