Officials with the Central Washington State Fair are concerned about a move by the Puyallup Fair to rename itself to the Washington State Fair.  Greg Stewart general manager of the Central Washington State Fair tells KIT News they’re looking into the situation. Since there’s no office that handles the change in the state it’s really between the two fairs.

The Puyallup Fair wrapped up on Sunday and that's when the name change was made. Spokeswoman Karen LaFlamme, who couldn't' be reached for comment today told the associated press the change will recognize all the people from across the state who compete at the fair. she also says the name change will help attract big-name entertainers to the fair. it's one of the biggest fairs in the nation, attracting more than a million people a year.
