Naches Students To Begin ‘Coffee With the Cops’ Program

Naches Valley High School Virtual Academy, which is essentially an Alternative program, is continuing its effort to reach out to the community by beginning a new program called "Coffee with the Cops."  Program Director Steve Davidson said, "By having Law Enforcement, Fire and city officials in, I believe this would really help the perception of our clientele to change their perception about law enforcement and the community tremendously.  Another potential outcome would be to help lower the juvenile crime rate in Naches."

Representatives from the Washington State Patrol, Yakima County Sherriff’s Department as well as potential representatives from Naches Fire and Rescue and the Town of Naches will attend.  Davidson also feels that another possible potential outcome would be to facilitate students' interest in Law Enforcement and firefighter careers.
