Yakima street crews have been working to remove a strange sludge that someone spilled on city streets last week. Streets manager Joe Rosenlund says they don't know who is responsible, but he believes it came from a large truck that may have been hauling cement or another kind of sludge or materials from a building demolition site.

Rosenlund says it's not toxic. Street sweepers have gone over areas of North 40th Avenue and Summitiview Avenue in the West Valley area to try and remove as much as possible. Rosenlund says they can't wash it down because of the time of year so they're just hoping rain and vehicle traffic clean up the spill that seems to go for miles in the west side of the city.
