Yakima's temporary homeless camp called Camp Hope moves to its temporary home today at the Yakima Union Gospel Mission on North First Street. Camp Hope is located on city owned property near the wastewater treatment plant. As part of an agreement the city requires the camp to move every six months for the camp to be considered temporary. The mission has set up temporary tents and other structures in a parking lot on the mission campus for up to 100 people that will live there for the next two weeks. Afterwards Camp Hope will return to the location on city property near the city wastewater treatment plant near Highway 24.
