RITZVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Court documents say a 3-year-old boy watched as his father bludgeoned his mother with a hammer and stabbed her with a screwdriver in a killing that led to the closure of Interstate 90 on Tuesday.

The woman's body was found on the highway with a screwdriver stuck in her chest early Tuesday.

Westbound lanes of the highway were closed for some eight hours about 20 miles west of Ritzville.

The Spokesman-Review says the father of the child, Manuel Argomaniz-Camargo, is in the Adams County Jail on $2 million bond. Court documents identify the woman as 24-year-old Ana Veronica Montelongo Garcia.

Court documents say a passer-by spotted her on the side of the road and called police. When officers arrived, Argomaniz-Camargo had bloody hands.
