As your kids head back to school, administrators are focused on their safety as well as their education. Gangs, weapons, and drugs are all are tough to control. Our news partner KIMA Action News found, despite a rise in the number of kids being caught with illegal drugs in yakima schools the news is actually good because it means more drugs are being found and confiscated by authorities. Last year there were 275 reports of drug incidents in the Yakima School District. That's a jump from 2009, when there were 214 reports, and an even bigger jump from four years ago when the number was well below 200.
