Firefighters battling the Miriam fire burning near Clear Lake are also battling strong winds that's driving the fire near populated areas. On Wednesday night Level 3 "Go" Evacuation Orders were given for the area West of Silver Beach Resort and Level 2 "Be Ready" orders were given to Silver Beach Resort as the fire continues to burn.
Meanwhile, the Manager of the White Pass Ski area says he's not concerned about the Miriam Fire impacting the ski area. Kevin McCarthy says he's watching weather and wind conditions. "White Pass is in pretty good condition especially because it's so green up here and we have a bunch of ski runs as a buffer."
McCarthy says he's glad firefighters are working to douse the flames because so many structures near the Clear Lake area are under threat of fire which authorities say has grown to more than 230 acres. It was started by a lighting strike last weekend.
