Monday is a national holiday to recognize the celebrate the life and times of Martin Luther King Jr.  As a result city, state and federal offices are closed including banks, schools and the post office.
In the city of Yakima many business offices are closed. A news release says
That includes City Hall, Y-PAC, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation offices.
"Business offices for the Police and Fire Departments will be closed. Emergency services will remain available.
Yakima Transit will not provide bus service Monday and the City’s Harman Center will be closed.
City of Yakima garbage pick-up service will continue as scheduled Monday, but the Refuse Division’s office will be closed.
Lions Pool will remain open to the public."

The Annual Peace March begins at 12:00 p.m. on Monday and is expected to conclude at 1:00 pm. at the Yakima Convention Center.

During the march Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard will be closed from North 6th Avenue to North 8th Street. In addition, 8th Street will be closed from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to Yakima Avenue.
