More ballots are being counted in the auditors office today from Tuesday's general election. Auditor Charles Ross says about 12,000 more ballots were counted Wednesday and the count will continue through Friday. Ross says while the election night turnout was 19% in the end he expects a 34% turnout. He says a lot of people waited until the last minute to turn in the ballot. "Going into election day we were seeing mail deliveries of about 1,500 ballots then it spiked up to 2,600 and we had about 7,600 on election day."
He says historically the ballots received on election night set the trend and additional ballots usually follow that trend.
Ross says he expects a larger turnout in the 2016 presidential election.
